小汤山医院是2003年非典期间建设的应急医院，参建单位经过7天7夜连续奋战，保证其顺利建成并投入使用，在抗击非典的关键时刻，发挥了重要作用。设计施工、安装调试速度超常，从接受任务到开工不到12小时，工作程序非常。工程完成后受到上级部门、世界卫生组织、香港医管局专家肯定与好评。并得到建设部、北京市规委通报表扬。解决了应急医疗设施从无到有的问题。为17年后的国内外新冠疫情控制提供了技术储备，为中国传染病医院建设提供了实践基础。

Xiaotangshan Hospital was an emergency hospital constructed during the SARS period in 2003. The participating companies worked continuously for 7 days and 7 nights to ensure that it was successfully completed and put into use. It played an important role in the critical moment of fighting against SARS. The speed of design, construction, installation and commissioning was extraordinary. It took less than 12 h from accepting the task to starting the work, and the working procedures were very tight. After being completed, the Project was affirmed and praised by experts from superior departments, the World Health Organization and the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. It was also highly praised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning. It solved the issue of emergency medical facilities from scratch. It provided technical reserves for controlling COVID-19 at home and abroad after 17 years and laid a practical foundation for the construction of Chinese infectious disease hospitals.
