作为塞内加尔的“国粹”竞技摔跤有着上百年的历史，深受当地民众的喜爱，但这项国粹运动一直缺少一座专业的竞技场馆，由中国援建的塞内加尔竞技摔跤场实现了塞内加尔政府和人民长久以来的愿望。可承办非洲地区的竞技摔跤比赛，同时可兼顾文体演出等活动。

摔跤场的设计充分尊重和考虑了塞内加尔的传统文化，采用椭圆形的场地布置，实现了“摔跤+表演”的特有比赛流程。在建筑设计中充分体现塞内加尔国粹元素，其标志性的罩棚设计灵感来源于摔跤手比赛时穿着的“金腰带”，中方建筑师和塞方艺术家合作设计GRC浮雕墙，展示摔跤比赛场景。

2018年7月22日两国领导人见证了摔跤场的落成移交，这座专业的摔跤场实现了“援塞内加尔人民体育梦”，在“一带一路”的大背景下，将更具历史意义。

As the "quintessence" of Senegal, competitive wrestling has a history of more than 100 years and is deeply loved by the local people. However, this quintessence sport has been lacking of a professional arena. The Senegal Competitive Wrestling Arena aided by China has realized the long-term wishes of the Senegalese government and people. It can undertake competitive wrestling competitions in Africa, and also take into account cultural and sports performances and other activities.

In the design of the wrestling arena, the traditional culture of Senegal has been fully respected and considered, and the oval layout is used, so as to realizes the unique competition process of "wrestling + performance". The architectural design fully embodies the elements of Senegalese quintessence. The design inspiration of the iconic canopy comes from the "gold belt" worn by wrestlers during the wrestling competition. Chinese architects and Senegalese artists cooperate to design GRC relief wall to show the wrestling competition scene.

In July 22, 2018, the leaders of China and Senegal witnessed the completion and handover of the wrestling arena. The professional wrestling field has realized the "China-aided Senegal people's sports dream". It will be more significant in the context of "one belt and one road".
